Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets major capsid protein (gene gp23) in bacteriophage t4 samples.
In bacteriophage T4, gp23 is the major capsid protein that forms most of the phage head. Copies of gp23 assemble into hexamers that, together with vertex and portal proteins, build the icosahedral capsid; its folding depends on the host chaperonin GroEL and the phage co-chaperone gp31, and it is a classic model in virus assembly studies.
