Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects bcl2-associated agonist of cell death (gene BAD) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry.

BAD is a pro-apoptotic BH3-only member of the Bcl-2 family. When dephosphorylated it binds Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL and frees BAX and BAK to trigger apoptosis, while survival signals such as AKT phosphorylate BAD and sequester it with 14-3-3 proteins. It is widely used to study growth factor-dependent cell survival.
