Product Overview
Clone AEOE-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes BAG family molecular chaperone regulator 2 (gene BAG2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 23.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 24 kDa.
BAG2 is a co-chaperone of the HSP70/HSC70 system that acts as a nucleotide exchange factor to promote release of bound substrates. It can inhibit the ubiquitin ligase CHIP (STUB1), and it is studied in protein quality control and in the handling of misfolded proteins such as tau.
