Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 8 (gene UBP8) in baker's yeast samples.
In the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Ubp8 is the deubiquitinating enzyme of the SAGA transcription coactivator complex. Within SAGA's deubiquitination module it removes ubiquitin from histone H2B, a modification that influences transcription by RNA polymerase II. Ubp8 is a classic model for studying how histone ubiquitination is reversed during gene activation.
