Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes BBSome complex member BBS1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA.

BBS1 is a core subunit of the BBSome, a protein complex that traffics specific membrane proteins, such as certain G protein-coupled receptors, into and out of primary cilia. Mutations in BBS1 are a common cause of Bardet–Biedl syndrome, a ciliopathy with retinal degeneration, obesity and polydactyly.

Target BBSome complex member BBS1 (gene BBS1; UniProt Q8NFJ9, human)
Host / Clonality / Isotype Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG
Reactivity Human, Mouse, Rat
Purification Immunogen affinity purified
Form Lyophilized
Formulation Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4
Reconstitution 500 µg/mL after adding 0.2 mL distilled water
Storage As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Validated Applications

Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat)
ELISA 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human)

Immunogen

Recombinant human ATF5 fragment (Leu11–Arg275), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 86.5% and 87.2%, respectively.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places BBSome complex member BBS1 in the cell projection and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in the kidney.
