Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes breakpoint cluster region protein (gene BCR) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 142.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 160 kDa.
BCR is a multidomain protein with serine/threonine kinase activity, a Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor domain and a C-terminal GTPase-activating domain that acts on Rac. It is best known as the fusion partner of ABL1 in the Philadelphia chromosome, which produces the BCR-ABL1 oncoprotein that drives chronic myeloid leukemia.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human HepG2 cells, human HEK293 cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HeLa cells, K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human BCR fragment (Asp3–Asn264), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places breakpoint cluster region protein in the postsynaptic density, cell projection and synapse. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
