Product Overview
Clone 17A10 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes actin, cytoplasmic 1 (gene ACTB) in chicken, human, mouse, pig, rabbit and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 41.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
Beta-actin (ACTB) is a cytoplasmic actin found in nearly all cells that assembles into filaments forming the cytoskeleton. It supports cell shape, migration and division and also acts in the nucleus in gene regulation, and it is widely used as a loading control in Western blot.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human K562 cells, pig brain tissue, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells, chicken liver tissuechicken brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:5000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human heart tissue, rat liver tissue, rat NRK cells.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human beta-actin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with chicken, human, mouse, pig, rabbit and rat. UniProt places actin, cytoplasmic 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
