Product Overview
Clone 17A11 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes actin, cytoplasmic 1 (gene ACTB) in human, monkey, mouse, rat and goat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 41.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
Beta-actin (ACTB) is a cytoplasmic actin found in nearly all cells that assembles into filaments forming the cytoskeleton. It supports cell shape, migration and division and also acts in the nucleus in gene regulation, and it is widely used as a loading control in Western blot.

|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa, human fetal kidney, 3T3 cells, PC-12 cells, COS-1 cells, Goat muscle.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human beta-actin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse, rat and goat. UniProt places actin, cytoplasmic 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
