Product Overview
Clone 18C65 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes beta-casein (gene CSN2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 25.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
Beta-casein (CSN2) is one of the main milk proteins made by mammary epithelial cells. Together with other caseins it forms casein micelles and helps define their surface properties, supporting the delivery of calcium and amino acids to the newborn. It is a standard marker of mammary differentiation and lactation.

|---|---|
| Immunoprecipitation | 1:50 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human milk.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human beta Casein.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes beta-casein as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Mammary gland specific. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
