Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes beta-nerve growth factor (gene NGF) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 27.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is the founding member of the neurotrophin family. Acting through its high-affinity receptor TrkA (NTRK1) and p75NTR (NGFR), it supports survival and growth of sympathetic and sensory neurons, while its precursor proNGF can signal cell death through p75NTR and sortilin family co-receptors; NGF is also a major mediator of pain.
