Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets beta-nerve growth factor (gene NGF) in rat, mouse and human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 27.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is the founding member of the neurotrophin family. Acting through its high-affinity receptor TrkA (NTRK1) and p75NTR (NGFR), it supports survival and growth of sympathetic and sensory neurons, while its precursor proNGF can signal cell death through p75NTR and sortilin family co-receptors; NGF is also a major mediator of pain.

| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human NGF. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat. It differs from the mouse sequence at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat, mouse and human. UniProt describes beta-nerve growth factor as secreted and also located in the endosome lumen. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
