Product Overview
Clone AEIB-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes biglycan (gene BGN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 41.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
Biglycan (BGN) is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan of the extracellular matrix that carries chondroitin or dermatan sulfate chains. It binds collagen and influences collagen fibril assembly, and it can modulate growth factor signaling. Biglycan is abundant in bone, cartilage and other connective tissues and is studied in skeletal biology and inflammation.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in placenta (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
