Product Overview

Clone 30B93 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (gene BIN1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 64.7 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 50, 60, 65 kDa.

BIN1 (also called amphiphysin 2) is a BAR-domain protein that senses and induces membrane curvature. Muscle isoforms are needed to form T-tubules, and brain isoforms act in endocytosis and synaptic function. BIN1 mutations cause centronuclear myopathy, and common variants near BIN1 are among the strongest genetic risk factors for late-onset Alzheimer′s disease.
