Product Overview
Clone AABH-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes bone morphogenetic protein 7 (gene BMP7) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 49.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 49 kDa.
Bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP7, also called OP-1) is a TGF-β superfamily growth factor that signals through BMP receptors and SMAD1/5/8. It is required for kidney and eye development and contributes to bone formation, and it is studied in brown fat development and as an antagonist of TGF-β-driven fibrosis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human fetal kidney.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human BMP7.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes bone morphogenetic protein 7 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the kidney and bladder. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
