Product Overview
Clone ABHI-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes vesicle transport protein SEC20 (gene BNIP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 26.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
BNIP1 (also called SEC20) is a SNARE protein of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane that takes part in retrograde Golgi-to-ER transport and membrane fusion. It helps maintain ER structure and was first identified as a partner of adenovirus E1B 19K and Bcl-2, with reported roles in apoptosis.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places vesicle transport protein SEC20 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and mitochondrion membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 1 is highly expressed in heart, brain, liver skeletal muscle and pancreas.
