Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes integrin-binding sialoprotein (gene IBSP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 35.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 37 kDa.
Integrin-binding sialoprotein (IBSP, also called bone sialoprotein) is a highly glycosylated protein of the SIBLING family found in mineralized tissues such as bone, dentin and calcified cartilage. It binds tightly to hydroxyapatite and supports cell attachment through the αvβ3 integrin, and it is a common marker of osteoblast differentiation and bone formation.
| Target | Integrin-binding sialoprotein (gene IBSP; UniProt P21815, human) |

| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human osteosarcoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human bone Sialoprotein. It differs from the rat and mouse sequences at three residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes integrin-binding sialoprotein as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in bone (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
