Product Overview
Clone FFE-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (gene BPI) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 53.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 54 kDa.
Bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI) is an antimicrobial protein stored in neutrophil granules. Its N-terminal region binds lipopolysaccharide on Gram-negative bacteria with high affinity, killing them and neutralizing endotoxin activity, and its C-terminal region helps opsonize bacteria for phagocytosis.
