Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets golgi-resident adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate 3'-phosphatase (gene BPNT2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 38.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 42 kDa.
BPNT2 (also called IMPAD1 or gPAPP) is a Golgi-resident phosphatase that hydrolyzes 3′-phosphoadenosine 5′-phosphate (PAP), a byproduct of sulfotransferase reactions, to AMP. It is needed for efficient sulfation of glycosaminoglycans in cartilage, and loss of its function causes skeletal dysplasia with joint dislocations.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human BPNT2 fragment (Asp62–Glu354), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 93.2% and 93.5%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places golgi-resident adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate 3'-phosphatase in the Golgi apparatus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
