BRMS1 was identified as a breast cancer metastasis suppressor that inhibits metastasis without blocking primary tumor growth. It is a component of SIN3–HDAC corepressor complexes and represses gene transcription, including dampening NF-κB activity by promoting deacetylation of RELA.
