Product Overview
Clone GOB-2 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes tyrosine-protein kinase BTK in human samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 76.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 76 kDa.
Bruton′s tyrosine kinase (BTK) is a TEC family kinase that relays B-cell receptor signals to PLCγ2, calcium release and NF-κB activation, and it also acts downstream of Fc and Toll-like receptors in myeloid cells. BTK is essential for B-cell development, its mutations cause X-linked agammaglobulinemia, and it is the target of inhibitors such as ibrutinib.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human BTK.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places tyrosine-protein kinase BTK in the cytoplasm, cell membrane, nucleus and membrane raft. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Predominantly expressed in B-lymphocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
