Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes proto-oncogene c-Rel in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 65.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 69 kDa.
c-Rel (REL) is a member of the NF-κB family of transcription factors. It forms dimers with other NF-κB subunits and, after release from IκB inhibitors, enters the nucleus to control genes involved in immune responses, lymphocyte proliferation and survival. c-Rel is particularly important in B and T cells and is studied in immunity and lymphoma.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human THP-1 cells, rat spleen tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse intestine tissue, rat intestine tissue, human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of mouse c-Rel. It differs from the human sequence at four residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places proto-oncogene c-Rel in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
