Product Overview
Clone AFFO-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mucin-16 (gene MUC16) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 1, 519.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 1519 kDa.
Mucin-16 (MUC16) is a very large transmembrane mucin that forms part of the protective glycocalyx on ocular, respiratory and reproductive tract epithelia. Its shed extracellular portion is the CA125 antigen, a long-established serum marker used in ovarian cancer research.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes mucin-16 as secreted and also located in the cell membrane.
