Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets protein phosphatase 3 catalytic subunit alpha (gene PPP3CA) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 58.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 84 kDa.
Calcineurin Aα (PPP3CA) is the main catalytic subunit of calcineurin, a Ca2+/calmodulin-activated serine/threonine phosphatase. Calcineurin dephosphorylates NFAT transcription factors to drive T-cell activation and other responses, and it is the target of cyclosporin A and tacrolimus. It is studied in immunity, neurons and cardiac hypertrophy.
