Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets calmegin (gene Clgn) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 69.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 95 kDa.
Calmegin (CLGN) is a testis-specific chaperone related to calnexin that acts in the endoplasmic reticulum of developing sperm cells. It assists the folding of sperm surface proteins needed for sperm migration and binding to the egg zona pellucida, making it a subject of research on male fertility and spermatogenesis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, rat H9C2(2–1) cells, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places calmegin in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Detected in testis (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
