Product Overview
Clone 23C69 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes calmegin (gene CLGN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 70.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
Calmegin (CLGN) is a testis-specific chaperone related to calnexin that acts in the endoplasmic reticulum of developing sperm cells. It assists the folding of sperm surface proteins needed for sperm migration and binding to the egg zona pellucida, making it a subject of research on male fertility and spermatogenesis.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human calmegin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places calmegin in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in testis (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
