Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (gene Camp) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot.
In rat, Camp encodes the cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide, a member of a family of host defense peptides made by neutrophils and epithelial cells. Cathelicidins are stored as inactive precursors and released as active peptides that disrupt microbial membranes and modulate inflammation, and they are studied in innate immunity and infection.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of rat camp. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 83.3%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt describes cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
