Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes carboxypeptidase B2 (gene Cpb2) in mouse samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 48.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
Carboxypeptidase B2 (CPB2), also called TAFI, is a plasma carboxypeptidase activated by the thrombin–thrombomodulin complex. It removes C-terminal lysines from partially degraded fibrin, which slows plasminogen binding and fibrinolysis, and it also inactivates bradykinin and anaphylatoxins, linking coagulation and inflammation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse CPB2 fragment (Lys165–Asp387), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human and rat orthologs: 86.1% and 96.9%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse. UniProt describes carboxypeptidase B2 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
