Product Overview
Clone 20T71 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes troponin C, slow skeletal and cardiac muscles (gene TNNC1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 18.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18 kDa.
Troponin C (TNNC1) is the calcium-binding subunit of the troponin complex in cardiac and slow skeletal muscle. When calcium binds troponin C, it relieves the inhibition exerted by troponin I on actin–myosin interaction, allowing muscle contraction. TNNC1 is studied in cardiac muscle physiology and in inherited cardiomyopathies.
