Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects troponin C, slow skeletal and cardiac muscles (gene TNNC1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 18.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 18 kDa.
Troponin C (TNNC1) is the calcium-binding subunit of the troponin complex in cardiac and slow skeletal muscle. When calcium binds troponin C, it relieves the inhibition exerted by troponin I on actin–myosin interaction, allowing muscle contraction. TNNC1 is studied in cardiac muscle physiology and in inherited cardiomyopathies.

Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human, Rat, Mouse) |
|---|---|
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Rat, Human, Mouse) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat skeletal muscle tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat cardiac muscle tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human cardiac Troponin C. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat and mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
