Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes caspase-1 (gene CASP1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 45.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
Caspase-1 is the inflammatory caspase activated by canonical inflammasomes such as NLRP3, NLRC4 and AIM2. Once active, it processes pro-IL-1β and pro-IL-18 into mature cytokines and cleaves gasdermin D to trigger pyroptosis, a lytic, inflammatory form of cell death. It is a central readout in innate immunity and inflammation research.

Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): MCF-7 cells, HeLa cells, SW620 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human caspase-1(P10).
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places caspase-1 in the cytoplasm and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in larger amounts in spleen and lung. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
