Product Overview
Clone ICI-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes caspase-14 (gene CASP14) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 27.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 28 kDa.
Caspase-14 is a non-apoptotic caspase expressed mainly in differentiating keratinocytes of the epidermis. It is involved in cornification and helps process filaggrin into natural moisturizing factors, supporting skin barrier function and hydration. It is studied in epidermal differentiation and skin barrier disorders.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human caspase-14.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places caspase-14 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in keratinocytes of adult skin suprabasal layers (from spinous layers to the stratum granulosum and stratum corneum) (at protein level).
