Product Overview
Clone 11E9 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes extracellular calcium-sensing receptor (gene CASR) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 120.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 130 kDa.
The calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) is a class C G protein-coupled receptor that detects extracellular Ca2+. In the parathyroid gland, its activation suppresses parathyroid hormone secretion, and in the kidney it regulates calcium reabsorption, making it central to systemic calcium homeostasis. Inactivating and activating CASR mutations cause hypercalcemic and hypocalcemic disorders.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A549 cells, human 22RV1 cells, human HepG2 cells, human Caco-2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human CASR fragment (Gln926–Ser1078), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 80.5% and 78.6%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places extracellular calcium-sensing receptor in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the temporal lobe, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, hippocampus, and cerebellum. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
