Product Overview
Clone AAGA-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes catalase in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 59.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60–65 kDa.
Catalase (CAT) is a heme enzyme, mainly located in peroxisomes, that breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. By removing H2O2, it protects cells from oxidative damage, and it is one of the most commonly measured antioxidant enzymes in studies of oxidative stress, aging and metabolism.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human HeLa cells, human Jurkat cells, rat liver tissue, rat RH35 cells, mouse liver tissue, mouse HEPA1–6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places catalase in the peroxisome matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
