Product Overview
Clone 22C76 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes chromobox protein homolog 2 (gene CBX2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 56.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
CBX2 is a chromobox protein of the Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) that binds histone H3 trimethylated at lysine 27. It helps PRC1 compact chromatin and maintain repression of developmental genes such as HOX genes. CBX2 is also required for male sex determination in humans and mice and is studied in development and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A431 cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, human U2OS cells, rat lung tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
