Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes vacuolar ATPase assembly protein VMA22 in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 19.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 20 kDa.
VMA22 (CCDC115) is an endoplasmic reticulum protein that supports assembly of the vacuolar-type H+-ATPase (V-ATPase). By enabling this proton pump, it helps acidify lysosomes and endosomes, which is required for lysosomal degradation and iron homeostasis. It is studied in organelle acidification and glycosylation.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human laryngeal squamous cells carcinoma tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U937 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human CCDC115 fragment (Met1–Ala180), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places vacuolar ATPase assembly protein VMA22 in the endosome, lysosome, cytoplasmic vesicle and endoplasmic reticulum. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed throughout the brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
