Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes interactor of HORMAD1 protein 1 (gene IHO1) in human samples and is validated for ELISA, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 66.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 66 kDa.
IHO1 (also called CCDC36) is a meiosis-specific protein that interacts with HORMAD1 on unsynapsed chromosome axes. Together with MEI4 and REC114, it supports the formation of programmed DNA double-strand breaks that start meiotic recombination, a step needed for proper chromosome synapsis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human HL-60 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human testis cancer tissue, human melanoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places interactor of HORMAD1 protein 1 in the chromosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
