Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: CCR3 — C-C chemokine receptor type 3
  • Antibody format: Host: Rabbit; Clonality: Monoclonal; Clone: Clone: ECE-3; Isotype: Rabbit IgG
  • Species reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat
  • Molecular weight guidance: Observed: 43 kDa, 32 kDa, 29 kDa; Calculated: 41044 MW

Biological background

Protein function (datasheet): Receptor for a C-C type chemokine. Binds to eotaxin, eotaxin-3, MCP-3, MCP-4, RANTES and MIP-1 delta. Subsequently transduces a signal by increasing the intracellular calcium ions level. Alternative coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection.

Cellular localization (datasheet): Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

Tissue details (datasheet): In eosinophils as well as trace amounts in neutrophils and monocytes.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Commonly studied in contexts related to Antiviral Signaling,Chemokines,G Protein Signaling,Immune System Diseases,Immunology,Innate Immunity,Signal Transduction,Signaling Pathway.
  • Supports comparative expression analysis across conditions, genotypes, or treatments when paired with appropriate controls.
  • Useful for confirming target presence and subcellular distribution using orthogonal readouts (e.g., microscopy vs. immunoblotting).

Common research applications

  • Western blot (WB): Compare relative target abundance and apparent size/isoforms across samples; interpret bands in light of expected MW and potential PTMs.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Assess tissue distribution and cell-type patterns; interpret staining with appropriate negative controls and antigen context.
  • Immunofluorescence / ICC: Visualize subcellular localization and co-localization patterns; consider fixation/permeabilization compatibility and controls.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms, post-translational modifications, and processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or localization.
  • Use appropriate positive and negative controls (e.g., KO/KD, blocking peptide, or isotype controls) to support specificity interpretation.

As a monoclonal antibody, this reagent is expected to recognize a defined epitope, which can support consistency across lots when epitope accessibility is preserved.

I was wanting to use your anti-CCR3 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody for WB for rat blood on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been validated for this particular application. Has this antibody been validated and is this antibody a good choice for rat blood identification?
As indicated on the product datasheet, M01748 anti-CCR3 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody has been validated for IF, IHC, ICC, WB on human, mouse, rat tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in rat blood in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.
Would M01748 anti-CCR3 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
It shows on the product datasheet, M01748 anti-CCR3 Rabbit Monoclonal antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
