    Overview

Anti-CCR7 Antibody is an antibody reagent for detection of CCR7 (ERCC excision repair 1, endonuclease non-catalytic subunit). Researchers commonly use anti-CCR7 antibodies to measure relative expression and localization across biological samples, with assay selection guided by the listed applications (WB, IHC, Flow, ELISA).

Boster Bio Anti-CCR7 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00390-2. Tested in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, IHC applications. This antibody reacts with Human.

    Key elements and design rationale

    • Target: CCR7 — Interleukin-2 (ERCC excision repair 1, endonuclease non-catalytic subunit). Alternative names: DNA excision repair protein ERCC-1; ERCC1
    • Antibody format: Polyclonal; Rabbit IgG
    • Species context: Host: Rabbit, Reactivity: Human
    • Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
    • Immunogen: E.coli-derived human CCR7 recombinant protein (Position: K332-E371).
    • Molecular weight context: observed 38 kDa, calculated 17628 MW (reported)
    • Provided application(s): WB, IHC, Flow, ELISA

These attributes help contextualize how the antibody is commonly selected (host/clonality/isotype/label) and how signals are interpreted across sample types and assay formats.

    Biological background

Function: Isoform 1: Non-catalytic component of a structure- specific DNA repair endonuclease responsible for the 5'-incision during DNA repair. Responsible, in conjunction with SLX4, for the first step in the repair of interstrand cross-links (ICL). Participates in the processing of anaphase bridge-generating DNA structures, which consist in incompletely processed DNA lesions arising during S or G2 phase, and can result in cytokinesis failure. Also required for homology-ed repair (HDR) of DNA double-strand breaks, in conjunction with SLX4.

    Cellular localization: Isoform 1: Nucleus.

Tissue details: Expressed in fetal brain.

Background: C-C chemokine receptor type 7 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCR7 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. This receptor was identified as a gene induced by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and is thought to be a mediator of EBV effects on B lymphocytes. This receptor is expressed in various lymphoid tissues and activates B and T lymphocytes. It has been shown to control the migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues, as well as stimulate dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19/ECL) has been reported to be a specific ligand of this receptor. Signals mediated by this receptor regulate T cell homeostasis in lymph nodes, and may also function in the activation and polarization of T cells, and in chronic inflammation pathogenesis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.

Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

    Research relevance and current trends

    • Quantitative and spatial profiling: expression patterns are increasingly studied across cell states using multiplex imaging and omics-informed validation.
    • Isoforms and post-translational modifications: researchers often evaluate how isoform composition and PTMs can shift apparent molecular weight or localization.
    • Context-aware interpretation: comparative studies commonly include perturbations (stimulation, inhibition, genetic models) to relate target changes to pathway behavior.

    Common research applications

    • Western blot (WB): compare relative target abundance and apparent size shifts (e.g., isoforms/PTMs) across conditions.
    • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): assess distribution across tissue compartments and compare staining patterns between groups.
    • Flow cytometry: quantify target-positive populations and compare shifts after stimulation or differentiation.

Across these uses, researchers typically interpret changes in signal as relative differences between matched sample groups, considering sample preparation and biological context.

    Notes for experimental interpretation

    • Apparent molecular weight can vary due to isoforms, proteolysis, glycosylation, phosphorylation, and sample preparation differences.
    • Species reactivity and epitope conservation can influence observed signal patterns, especially in cross-species studies.
    • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype controls where relevant) and, when feasible, genetic or orthogonal controls (KO/KD, peptide competition, or independent assays) to support interpretation.

For antibody reagents, monoclonal antibodies are often chosen for epitope consistency across lots, while polyclonals may recognize multiple epitopes and can show different background characteristics depending on context.
