Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of ITGAX (Leptin receptor) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-CD11c/ITGAX Antibody Picoband® catalog # A00357-1. Tested in ELISA, IHC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human CD11c recombinant protein (Position: S161-T342). (reported region: S161-T342).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 150 kDa; calculated MW: 132494 MW
  • Reactivity: Human,Mouse
  • Applications: ELISA, IHC, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

Leptin receptor; integrin subunit alpha X. CD11c, also known as Integrin, alpha X (complement component 3 receptor 4 subunit) (ITGAX), is a genethat encodes for CD11c. This gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Functional note: Integrin alpha-X/beta-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis. Reported localization: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Expression/tissue context: Predominantly expressed in monocytes and granulocytes.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Cell Adhesion: Researchers commonly examine how ITGAX (Leptin receptor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cell Type Markers: Researchers commonly examine how ITGAX (Leptin receptor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cytoskeleton/ECM: Researchers commonly examine how ITGAX (Leptin receptor) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative ITGAX (Leptin receptor) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • IHC/IHC-F: assess spatial distribution of ITGAX (Leptin receptor) across tissue regions and cell types using matched controls.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.

I see that the anti-CD11c/ITGAX antibody A00357-1 works with ELISA, what is the protocol used to produce the result images on the product page?
You can find protocols for ELISA on the "support/technical resources" section of our navigation menu. If you have any further questions, please send an email to support@bosterbio.com
Our lab were satisfied with the WB result of your anti-CD11c/ITGAX antibody. However we have observed positive staining in blood membrane using this antibody. Is that expected? Could you tell me where is ITGAX supposed to be expressed?
According to literature, blood does express ITGAX. Generally ITGAX expresses in membrane. Regarding which tissues have ITGAX expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues: Blood, Pubmed ID: 15489334 Liver, Pubmed ID: 19159218
