Product Overview
Clone 26B41 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes basigin (gene BSG) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 42.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 38–70 kDa.
Basigin (BSG, also called CD147 or EMMPRIN) is an immunoglobulin superfamily transmembrane glycoprotein. It acts as a chaperone for monocarboxylate transporters such as MCT1 and MCT4 and stimulates matrix metalloproteinase production, and it is the red blood cell receptor used by Plasmodium falciparum RH5 during invasion.
