Product Overview

Clone ADGA-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD166 antigen (gene ALCAM) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 65.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.

ALCAM (CD166) is an immunoglobulin superfamily adhesion molecule that mediates cell-cell contacts both by binding itself and by binding CD6 on T cells. The ALCAM-CD6 interaction supports immunological synapse formation and T cell activation, and ALCAM is also studied in neural development, stem cells and cancer.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CD166.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places CD166 antigen in the cell membrane and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected on hematopoietic stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:60; Immunoprecipitation 1:40. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 65.1 kDa; observed band at about 100 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CD166.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
