Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets T-cell surface glycoprotein CD1b in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 36.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
CD1b is a member of the CD1 family of antigen-presenting molecules that display lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells. Its large binding groove accommodates long-chain mycobacterial lipids such as mycolic acids, so it is studied in T-cell responses to tuberculosis and lipid antigen presentation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hcct tissue, human MOLT-4 tissue, human Jurkat cells, rat thymus tissue, mouse thymus tissue, mouse RAW264.7 cells, mouse Ana-1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human CD1B fragment (Asp78–Tyr110), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places T-cell surface glycoprotein CD1b in the cell membrane, endosome membrane and lysosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed on cortical thymocytes, on certain T-cell leukemias, and in various other tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
