Product Overview
Clone 22B46 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes basal cell adhesion molecule (gene BCAM) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 67.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 85 kDa.
Basal cell adhesion molecule (BCAM, also known as Lutheran glycoprotein) is an immunoglobulin superfamily transmembrane protein that serves as a receptor for laminins containing the α5 chain. It carries the Lutheran blood group antigens and is studied in cell adhesion and migration, red cell adhesion in sickle cell disease and tumor invasion.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CD239.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places basal cell adhesion molecule in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Wide tissue distribution (highest in the pancreas and very low in brain). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
