Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 1 (gene Cd38) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 34.4 kDa.
CD38 is a transmembrane enzyme that synthesizes and hydrolyzes cyclic ADP-ribose, a calcium-mobilizing second messenger, and is a major consumer of NAD+. It is highly expressed on plasma cells and activated lymphocytes, so it is used as an activation and plasma cell marker and studied in multiple myeloma and NAD+ metabolism.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
