Product Overview
Clone 17G60 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes platelet glycoprotein Ib alpha chain (gene GP1BA) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 71.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 143 kDa.
Glycoprotein Ib alpha (GP1BA) is the ligand-binding subunit of the platelet GPIb-IX-V complex. It binds von Willebrand factor on exposed subendothelium, allowing platelets to tether under high shear flow, and its defects cause Bernard-Soulier syndrome, so it is central to studies of platelet adhesion and hemostasis.

| Immunohistochemistry | 1:50–1:200 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human spleen.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CD42b.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places platelet glycoprotein Ib alpha chain in the membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
