Product Overview
Clone AFOD-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD48 antigen in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 27.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 43 kDa.
CD48 is a GPI-anchored SLAM family glycoprotein expressed on most leukocytes. It binds CD244 (2B4) and, in rodents, CD2, helping to regulate lymphocyte adhesion, activation and NK-cell cytotoxicity.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): Raji cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human CD48 Ligand for CD2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes CD48 antigen as secreted and also located in the cell membrane and membrane raft. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed on all hematopoietic cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
