Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: CD79A (Caspase-7).
  • Antibody format: Monoclonal; clone ADOO-3; isotype Rabbit IgG.
  • Host: Rabbit.
  • Species reactivity: Human (confirm in your model system with appropriate controls).

This description is intended to help interpret the antibody design and the biological context of the target using the fields provided in the catalog record, alongside general experimental considerations.

Biological background

CD79A (protein: Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (gsk3b)) is a commonly studied target in molecular and cellular biology. Functional context (as provided): Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Overexpression promotes programmed cell death (By similarity). . Reported cellular localization context: Cytoplasm. Tissue expression notes (as provided): Highly expressed in heart, lung, liver and kidney. Low levels in spleen, skeletal muscle and testis. No expression in the brain.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Research context keywords from the source record include: Adaptive Immunity,B Cells,Cancer,Hematopoietic Progenitors,Immunoglobulins,Immunology,Lymphoid,Receptors,Stem Cells,Tumor Immunology.
  • Current studies often focus on connecting target abundance/localization to pathway perturbations across models, tissues, and cell states.
  • Quantitative and multiplexed assays (e.g., imaging + immunoblot panels) are commonly used to compare phenotypes across conditions and time-courses.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting (WB): assess relative target abundance across samples, treatments, or time-points.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): evaluate spatial distribution of target-positive staining in tissue architecture.
  • Immunofluorescence/ICC (IF/ICC): visualize subcellular localization patterns and cell-to-cell heterogeneity.
  • Flow cytometry: quantify target-positive populations and compare shifts in marker distributions.

Workflow ideas (metafield): Validate CD79A antibody specificity using KO/KD control samples (WB/IF/IHC as appropriate), Detect CD79A expression by Western blot in cell or tissue lysates, Detect CD79A in FFPE tissue sections by immunohistochemistry, Localize CD79A by immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry in cultured cells, Quantify CD79A-positive cells by flow cytometry in single-cell suspensions

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that may shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
  • Apparent molecular weight may vary by sample type and processing (observed MW: 17 kDa; calculated MW: 34061 MW).
  • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype, KO/KD samples) and orthogonal validation when feasible.

Additional product details (from the source record)

  • Molecular weight (observed): 17 kDa
  • Cellular localization (provided): Cytoplasm.
  • Tissue details (provided): Highly expressed in heart, lung, liver and kidney. Low levels in spleen, skeletal muscle and testis. No expression in the brain.

My boss were well pleased with the WB result of your anti-CD79a Monoclonal antibody. However we have seen positive staining in adrenal gland cell membrane using this antibody. Is that expected? Could you tell me where is CD79A supposed to be expressed?
From what I have seen in literature, adrenal gland does express CD79A. Generally CD79A expresses in cell membrane. Regarding which tissues have CD79A expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues: Small intestine, Pubmed ID: 7514267 Tonsil, Pubmed ID: 1534761
Thank you for helping with my inquiry over the phone. Here are the WB image, lot number and protocol we used for small intestine using anti-CD79a Monoclonal antibody M01047-1. Let me know if you need anything else.
We appreciate the data. You have provided everything we needed. Our lab team are working to resolve your inquiry as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience and understanding! Please let me know if there is anything you need in the meantime.
