Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes B-cell antigen receptor complex-associated protein beta chain (gene CD79B) in human samples and is validated for flow cytometry, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 26.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 30–40 kDa.
CD79b (Igβ) forms a heterodimer with CD79a that carries the signaling function of the B-cell antigen receptor. Its ITAM motif drives signaling after antigen engagement, and it is needed for B-cell development and is studied in B-cell lymphomas that depend on chronic receptor signaling.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Raji cells, human Daudi cells, human Ramos cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human spleen tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human spleen tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Raji cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human CD79b fragment (Ala29–Glu229), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 70%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places B-cell antigen receptor complex-associated protein beta chain in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): B-cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
