Product Overview
Clone BDG-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain (gene CD8A) in human samples and is validated for IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 25.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.
CD8α (CD8A) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that forms the CD8 co-receptor, usually as a CD8αβ heterodimer on cytotoxic T cells and as a CD8αα homodimer on some other lymphocytes. It binds MHC class I and recruits LCK to enhance T-cell receptor signaling, and it is the standard marker for cytotoxic T cells.

The supplier lists reactivity with human. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): CD8 on thymus-derived T-cells usually consists of a disulfide-linked alpha/CD8A and a beta/CD8B chain.
