Product Overview
Clone GAA-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD81 antigen in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 25.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
CD81 is a widely expressed tetraspanin that organizes tetraspanin-enriched membrane microdomains. On B cells it partners with CD19 and CD21 to form the B-cell co-receptor complex, it is an entry factor for hepatitis C virus, and it is a common marker for exosomes.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human prostate cancer tissue, human testis cancer tissue, human Hodgkin's lymphoma tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places CD81 antigen in the cell membrane and basolateral cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed on B cells (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
